John Cooley was born and educated in upstate New York. He now lives with his son Christopher in Grand Junction, Colorado where he does his work and travels to galleries, exhibits and shows all over the country.

Not content to deliver his message with one medium John is accomplished with watercolor, acrylics and oils, plus loves to "doodle" in pastels. He's also mastered the art of metal smithing and the natural evolution of jewelry making.

His work is represented in the the collections of many. Collectors and people who know fine craftsmanship are being taken by his serendipitous designs, his minutely fine metal smithing and generally just enjoying the humor and depth of thought going into each Cooley Design piece.
